Welcome to Green Forest, Arkansas in the Northwest Arkansas Ozarks
and welcome to Norris Realty.
Green Forest lays in a basin of good cattle grassland with mountains
immediately south and the ridge of Branson, Missouri only 35 miles to
the north. Within 30 to 45 minutes you can be fishing and water skiing
in Bull Shoals Lake to the east, Table Rock Lake to the north or Beaver
Lake to the west. Harrison, Arkansas, only 22 miles east, has a couple
of golf courses and a commercial airport. Berryville, Arkansas, 8 miles
to the west, has the Wal-Mart Supercenter, golf course and a smaller
air strip. Just 12 miles further west is the "Little Switzerland
of the Ozarks", Eureka Springs. In just over an hour you can be
over to Fayetteville, Arkansas attending a U of A Razorback game or
an hour and 1/2 north puts you in Springfield, Missouri on a dining
and shopping spree. The entire area boasts a prime place for folks to
vacation or retire. However, the little town of Green Forest offers
not just a place to retire but a town to move to, a place to live, to
work, for your kids to attend a small town school, a place for your
family to attend church, a place where the men folk can frequent the
coffee shops each morning for a news update (of sorts). Green forest
still has the small, laid-back country town atmosphere. Population is
up over 2,000 people with a school district of approx. 1,200 students
K-12. The industry is primarily agricultural or agriculture related.
The business of raising beef cattle, turkeys, chickens and dairy cattle
top the list. Also, a new medical center has just been completed in
Green Forest. Choose what attributes about the area meet your fancy,
but still the finest asset of Green Forest is its people. There's quite
a cross section here but it's a group that's still genuine, hard working
and rich in community spirit. There's just a good chance you'll like
it here.
